bio

Anthony Wilcox Jr., known professionally as MC-Coy (pronounced em-see-koy), is an American rapper, CEO of Hipular Records, and co-founder of TPPshows. He was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, survived Hurricane Katrina, relocated, and settled in Los Angeles, California. MC-Coy creates songs as a motivational hustler, with trap-crunk influence from the South, and the addition of smooth melodies to captivate all listeners.

MC-Coy grew up free-styling with his three siblings, and wrote poetry during tough times. He started recording his music professionally in 2017 with his first release, “Know Your Game,” from the “All Power to the People” EP. After performing these songs in Bay Area venues, MC-Coy discovered what his fans liked and began to write new music. “What They Want” EP was released in 2018 with more Southern influence and upbeat vibes. His music became popular from live performances at Neck of the Woods, Brick and Mortar, Slate Bar, The Lister, and 111 Minna.

Following this EP were singles that paved the way to MC-Coy’s success today. His songs demonstrate his inimitable ability to tell stories, motivate, and entertain his audience. MC-Coy released his self-titled debut album, “MC-Coy,” in 2021 and continues to release hit singles and perform locally and nationally.
